Not Getting Sufficient Sleep?

Not Getting Sufficient Sleep? You Probably Rest Less Than You Assume You Do

People, you, moan a lot. What do we complain about especially?

We complain that we can’t get sufficient rest. We complain that we are tired in the morning. We complain if anyone wants to bother us before we drink our first cup of coffee in the am.

We likewise moan that we have to work way too much to earn enough money, that there are not enough hours in a day, that we do not get everything finished that we thought we should.

We never take the time to stop and document the amount of time we really sleep, or the length of time we effectively work.

You’ll be shocked to learn that you both work less time than you thought, and you sleep less time than you thought you slept.

A research by scientists from the University of Chicago carried out a study to find out what is the truth regarding our major complaints, about the time we spend really resting, and the time we spend, really doing useful work..

The test subjects of the study were females between 38 and 50 years old. The test subjects were volunteers. They were outfitted with a monitor, a sensitive motion detector placed on the wrist, that the subjects were wearing continuously, for 24 hours a day.

The data obtained from the wrist-monitors, consisted of real information showing how much time the subjects were asleep, how much time they were awake in bed before and after sleep. That data then was cross-referenced with the notes each participant wrote detailing the same data.

The results were rather unexpected.

Most of the individuals spent longer time doing work, or doing stuff, than they spent sleeping.

In addition to that we found out that Caucasian women sleep longer than the black women.

Caucasian women spent sleeping an average 6 hours and 42 minutes a night. They dropped off to sleep faster, they dropped off to sleep in about 13 minutes. The overall time they stayed in bed was around 8 hours. they said the had a better quality of sleep overall.

Black women slept an hour and a half less than the white women, only 5 hours and 6 minutes a night. It also took them longer, 36 minutes to drop off to sleep, They spent 7 hours in bed and had troubled, much less peaceful sleep.

It turns out that sleeping more improves your performance at work, both your ability to think, and your ability to make substantially less errors whether it’s dexterity, or reliability in thinking.

It was also found that individuals with more income slept the most, while people with worse finances slept the minimum … which makes sense. People who make more money may have fewer problems, or they may have more say over their sleep environment and times.

What was first, the chicken or the egg ? did they make more money because they got more time to sleep, or the other way around?
